This indexation will be fixed by amendments to the second reading of the government bill, the Minister promised.

The head of the Ministry of labor also said that the coming years are the most optimal for raising the retirement age. In the future 5-10 years, Russia will not be such a coincidence when coming on to the market small generation of the period of fertility decline, and at the same time, a significant number of citizens become seniors.

“If we wait, then we wouldn’t have such relationships between the labour market and those out on pensions”, — said Topilin.

A bill on the gradual increase of the retirement age for men from 60 to 65 by 2028 for women — from 55 to 63 years to 2034 was adopted by the state Duma in the first reading on 19 July.
