Regional election commissions have requested from travel agencies information for trips of Russians on election day
Tourist company in the Russian regions receive from the electoral commissions with a request to provide information about the clients that on election day, September 9 will be on vacation, reports “Interfax” with reference to press Secretary of the Russian Union of travel industry (RST) Irina Tyurin.
“Travel agents have begun to receive letters with the requirements to report the name, date of birth and place of registration of tourists in the period up to 1 September. In particular, such requests shall circulate to the district election Commission, one of the Siberian cities”, — said Ms. Turin, noting that the responsibilities of the territorial election commissions not included vyyasneniya, where the citizens on the voting day.
The CEC called the treatment of commissions to travel agencies initiative and promised to investigate the situation.
