The Pentagon plans to develop an alternative to GPS
The Pentagon in the development of the space forces of the USA will develop alternative systems of global positioning and navigation, to be used where the satellite GPS system.
The plans of the defense Department are presented in the report of Pentagon about the prospects of U.S. space forces. What are the systems in question and in what time frame they can be developed, the Pentagon did not specify.
According to the document, the US military intend to create four units in the Ministry space forces: Agency for development of space and space response force, combat command, and the Department, comprising a number of support structures. The tasks will include: recruiting, financial management, logistics, hiring of employees.
The US President Donald trump on June 18 gave the order to form a national military space forces. Vice-President Mike Pence later said that by 2020 the United States will form in the structure of the Pentagon Ministry of space forces.
