In Tver criminal case on extremism for reposts of pictures in “Vkontakte”
The investigative Committee for the Tver region opened a case of extremism against 46-year-old Sergei Sokolov.
The grounds were reposts of images and publications in the social network “Vkontakte”, told “Kommersant” the suspect’s lawyer Ilnur Sharapov.
A criminal case was opened under part 1 of article 282 (inciting hatred and enmity on the grounds of nationality and membership of a particular social group). The investigators concluded that publications which repostnul mister Sokolov, contain “language features focus on excitation of hatred and enmity, and also on humiliation of dignity of a person or group on grounds of race, nationality, language, origin”.
