Trump has spoken about meeting his son’s Russian lawyer
The US President Donald trump said that meeting his son’s Russian lawyer for the collection of information about Hillary Clinton was perfectly legal. He wrote about this in his Twitter.
“Fake media write complete crap that I am concerned about the meeting [with the Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in 2016] my beautiful son Donald (…) It was a meeting arranged for more information about my political opponent, it is absolutely legitimate and normal practice for the policy, which in what have not resulted. I don’t know!” — wrote the American leader.
This statement provoked a strong reaction among critics of trump. As reported by NBC News, prior to that, trump argued that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the adoption of Russian children by American families. However in his post he acknowledged that the meeting discussed the candidate in US presidents from Democratic party.
In may Veselnitskaya gave testimony to the Senate Commission of the United States in the case of alleged Russian interference in the election of the American President. According to her, the meeting with Donald trump Jr. was of a private nature and had no relation neither to Trump Sr., or his rival in the election, Hillary Clinton, or to the election as a whole.
About the meeting Veselnitskaya and trump Jr. supposedly with the purpose of getting dirt on Hillary Clinton was made on 10 July 2017. It was alleged that she was held in the year 2016, two weeks after the nomination trump Sr. the election.
