The education Minister has refuted the popular front about the lack of teachers

The shortage of teaching staff in schools in recent years has decreased and does not exceed 1%, told journalists the Minister of education Olga Vasilyeva, commenting on the information of the Russian popular front (onf) on the lack of teachers.

Vasileva also noted that “the work of a teacher more attractive to the young, and in pedagogical universities increasingly prepared students, that clearly shows the quality of reception in the last year”. According to her, in four years increased the attractiveness of the teaching programs: increased the average grade of students, and teaching programs began to receive 100-ballnik and awards competitions.

According to a survey conducted by the onf and the Fund “National resources education”, 39% of teachers reported a shortage in their school teachers in a foreign language, 30% — in Russian language and literature, 26% for primary education, shortage of teachers algebra, geometry and elementary analysis of said four out of ten teachers. Respondents also noted an acute shortage of schools for young specialists and raise the average age of teachers.
