The actor-comedian became a candidate for the post of mayor of Yerevan
Moscow. July 29. INTERFAX.RU — Famous Armenian actor, a comedian Hayk Marutyan became a candidate from headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Nikol Pashinyan of the party “Civil contract” for the post of Yerevan mayor.
As the press service of the party, the decision was taken at a meeting of the “Civil contract” on Sunday.
During protests against Sargsyan Marutyan actively supported Pashinian, and in may joined the party “Civil contract”.
On 9 July the mayor of Yerevan, member led by ex-President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan the Republican party, Taron Margaryan has resigned. He held the post of mayor of Yerevan since 2011. He is the son who died in 2007, Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan.
In mid-may, a few days demonstrators have been protesting demanding the resignation of the mayor of Yerevan, considering it a “protege” of Sargsyan and accused of ineffective spending of public funds.
