Students found in the Ural cave hiding place artist of the Ice age. So he did not get up, the old man carefully buried the cache of stone blocks, say the archaeologists. About it reports a press-release received by the editors Indicator.Ru.

The discovery was made by the students of historical faculty of MSU named after M. V. Lomonosov, participating in the South Ural archaeological expedition. Future historians together with the existing scientists investigated Kapova cave — karst cave, which is located in the reserve “Shulgantash” (burzyansky district, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia). She is known for rock paintings, most of which dates back to 19-17 thousands of years ago, the age of the oldest drawings — 36,4 thousand years ago. On the cave walls you can find pictures of the mammoth, woolly rhinoceros, bison, horse, camel and huts, triangles and oblique lines.

The hiding place was in the cleft of a cave and was a stones coated with mineral paint — ochre.

Expedition leader Vladislav Zhitenev suggests that the ancient artist carefully turned the stones painted side down and filled up a stash of large rocks. “Interesting not only the discovery, but also its location — on the wall, near which the treasure was revealed drawings of the Glacial period,” says Zhitenev.

Previously, archaeologists have found something like this: in 2016, under quite rare for Paleolithic art image fish was discovered the place of storage of paints and palettes.
