Which is one of the largest Alpine lakes in Russia (photo)

A place of amazing beauty.

The nature of Russia is so varied that in the vast country you can find many unique places. One of these is the lake Kazenoy Am located near the Chechen-Dagestani border on the southern slope of the Andean mountain range.

During the download an error has occurred.Kazenoi-Am is the largest of the mountain lakes in the North Caucasus.

Its length from North to South is 2 kilometers, and from West to East and 2.7 km. It is located in the mountains at an altitude of 1870 meters, and its depth is about 80 meters.

It is believed that this lake appeared after the earthquake that led to the collapse of a large volume of rocks in the beds of two rivers — Cauchy and Harsum. The collapse also created on the South side of the present dam nearly a hundred-meter height.
