MOSCOW, 26 Aug — RIA Novosti. Foreign Minister of Ecuador, josé Valencia stated the need to resolve the situation with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who is hiding from the British authorities in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

“The question of asylum, which was agreed at the time, it is necessary to solve, as it cannot be in the eternal refuge. However, it is difficult to predict how long it will take for this decision,” said Valencia in an interview with ABC. So he answered the question about the possibility of failure in the future Assange asylum from Quito.

The diplomat urged to discuss the problem in the framework of international law with three parties: the UK government, the government of Ecuador and Assange’s lawyers.

He also recalled that under the terms of asylum, Assange can’t make political statements, and to say anything that puts at risk the relationship between Ecuador and other countries.
