In Rostov-on-don on 71-m to year of life died Chairman of Council of veterans of internal Affairs bodies and internal troops of the region Viktor Burakov. He is known for having led the operation to capture one of the most famous in Russia killers Andrei Chikatilo.
CSI was born on 18 August 1946 in the Bryansk region. After graduating from the Volgograd higher investigatory school of militia entered the service of the regional Department of internal Affairs.
In 1994, Burakov took the position of first Deputy head of the GUVD of the Rostov region. CSI has played a leading role in the operation “Forest” on detention of Andrei Chikatilo.

Andrei Chikatilo had committed murder during the period from 1978 to 1990. The investigation failed to prove the involvement of a maniac to murder 53 people. Chikatilo was arrested on 20 November 1990. He was executed February 14, 1994.
