Peskov responded to the threat of sanctions because of the “Nord stream — 2”
MOSCOW, July 13 — RIA Novosti. Moscow is seriously concerned by the threats of sanctions against Russia and Germany in the case of the implementation of the “Nord stream-2”, said press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
In Brussels, where the NATO summit, the leader of the United States Donald trump said that Germany is fully controlled by Russia over gas supplies. He thinks it’s absolutely unacceptable that Germany pays billions for Russian gas and plans to build a new pipeline (“Nord stream-2”), while the United States needs to defend it as a NATO ally, spending on defence disproportionately Berlin.
“Let’s not forget that SP-2 is an international project, not even Russian or Russian-German. It is an international joint venture, where a lot of shareholders, it is a very big company from different countries. And of course threatening to those shareholders or to threaten Russia and Germany sanctions in case of further implementation of this project is a matter of serious concern”, — said Peskov in interview to TV channel RT.
