Peskov: Putin aware of the discussions on the change in pension legislation
MOSCOW, 6 Jul — RIA Novosti. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the course of the discussion on the parameters for changes to the pension system, he receives the fullness of information, said on Friday the press-Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
“Of course, the President in the course of the reaction on relevant initiatives and… options we offer. As always, for all is not only important, but less important, he receives the fullness of information through various channels, which is a pledge that the President has information that is objective, not subjective. You know, he was never limited by the adoption of dry reporting agencies and always leaves it to other sources of information, so in this respect no doubt should not be”, — said Peskov.
Now the standard age of retirement in Russia is 60 and 55 years for men and women respectively prescribed by law the retirement age established in the 1930-ies. The question of raising the retirement age has been discussed for quite some time. The need for this is caused by growing life expectancy and the inability to provide a decent pension in circumstances when the number of employees in the country decreases, while the number of pensioners, by contrast, is growing. Today, in most countries the retirement age is 60-65 years.
