When talking about the pyramids most of us remember, of course, Egypt. Perhaps someone comes to mind and Mexico, with its Mayan pyramids. But there are countries in the world are less popular but no less interesting.
For example, a large complex of pyramids (about 200 buildings) located in the ancient city of Meroe in the territory of modern Sudan. This place is called “Nubian pyramids” or “the Tomb of the black pharaohs”.

As in Egypt, these pyramids are tombs of local rulers.
Many of the pyramids there are no tops. For this, we should “thank” the Italian grave robber Giuseppe Ferlini who wanted as quickly as possible to get to the treasure inside and ordered to blow up the tops of the pyramids.
