Juvenile offenders banned tobacco and matches

Moscow. June 17. INTERFAX.RU Inmates in young offenders ‘ teenage smokers will soon have to give up the pernicious habit. The relevant rules are contained in the draft order of the Ministry of justice, published on the portal of projects of normative legal acts.

According to the amendments, juvenile offenders are not permitted to carry tobacco products and products, as well as matches, including store-bought colonies, and also in parcels and transfers.

Prisoners of age, these restrictions do not apply.

As explained by the authors of the document, changes related to the Federal law “On protection of health of citizens from impact of ambient tobacco smoke and consequences” of 23 February 2013 № 15-FZ.

The project also provides the opportunity for young prisoners to send offers, statements, petitions and complaints in electronic form at their own expense (if the colony has the appropriate equipment).
