Merkel was left disappointed by the G7 summit

Moscow. June 11. INTERFAX.RU — German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the German TV channel ARD on Sunday said that the summit “the big seven” in Canada has made her a “depressing impression”.

She said that participation in negotiations was for her “a sobering experience”. The result of the summit, according to the Chancellor, cannot be called perfect; in particular, she was disappointed with the decision of the President of the United States Donald trump to withdraw his signature under the joint communiqué of the G7.

The lack of progress in negotiations over U.S. duties on steel and aluminum, according to Merkel, shows that Europe can no longer unconditionally rely on US and must come together to solve regional problems.

Trump after his departure from the summit refused to endorse the final communiqué of the “group of seven” because of the statements Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau about the American duties.
