Damaged Repin’s painting vandal has denied reports of drinking vodka

Moscow. May 29. INTERFAX.RU — Igor Podporin, may 25, damaged the painting by Ilya Repin “Ivan the terrible and his son Ivan” in the Tretyakov gallery, denied his words about drinking before the attack vodka.

“I did not drink vodka and do not drink at all. The video, which circulated, was taken after I had pressure,” he said at a meeting in Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky court, where today the issue of his arrest.

Podporin was detained may 25, after a metal bar fence broke the glass of the picture and damaged the painting “Ivan the terrible and his son Ivan”.
