Putin apologized for being late to the SPIEF joke about the talking presidents

Russian leader Vladimir Putin apologized to foreign investors for being late with a joke about the work of the presidency.

The head of state was late for a meeting with representatives of the international investment community. He held talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. The event and communication with journalists lasted more than four hours.

“In apology for the delay, I can say that I and my colleagues, as we like to joke, we have no specific job, so we love to talk, to dream — everything is so delayed indefinitely, unlike you — from the people to whom specific responsibility for a particular case, as expressed in the hundreds of millions and billions of dollars”, — Putin addressed to the investors.

The meeting of the President with foreign investors took place in the framework of St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF), which is held annually in St. Petersburg since 1997. This year the event takes place from 24 to 26 may. The main topic of discussion will be the establishment of an economy of trust between market participants, government and citizens.
