Poroshenko named three key achievements as President

MOSCOW, may 19 — RIA Novosti. Petro Poroshenko called their main achievements on a post of the President of Ukraine, UNIAN reports.

According to the head of the state, the most significant for the country are “strengthening of the Ukrainian army, the signing of the Association agreement with the EU and visa-free travel to more than 100 countries.”

Separately, Poroshenko stopped on the defense of the country and the state of the armed forces.

“Just returned from the front and I want to say that the Ukrainian soldiers not only clothed, fed and shod, but also have the appropriate medical and financial support is a stronghold of Ukrainian independence and sovereignty”, — said Poroshenko.

He also added that Ukraine spends on defense about 6% of GDP, while other countries — “only 1%”.

At the same time, Poroshenko noted that these funds could be used for other purposes and significantly improve the standard of living in the country.

“I can only imagine if these 100 billion are now sent to Finance the army, and on the development of Ukraine. What then would be the growth and improvement of people’s lives”, — said the head of state.

Poroshenko has repeatedly called the Ukrainian army “one of the most efficient in the world” and praised the “bold” actions of the military during the exercise. He also talked about the “European” future of the country and expressed the hope that Ukraine will become a member of the “great families” of the EU.
