Watch Elvis Presley sold 18 times more expensive than the pre-sale estimate
Moscow. May 14. INTERFAX.RU — Decorated with diamonds Omega watches 1960 of the release, belonging to musician Elvis Presley, sold at auction Phillips for 1,812 million Swiss francs ($1.8 million).
As stated in the materials on the website of the auction house, the transaction amount is 18 times higher than the highest pre-sale estimate (50 thousand — 100 thousand francs).
Lot set a new record price for the watch brand Omega and contrary to expectations, turned out to be one of the most expensive at the auction, held on 12-13 may in Geneva.
Subsequently, the musician gave the watch to the uncle of the current owner in exchange for its Hamilton, also decorated with diamonds.
