The bill on punishment for the execution of anti-Russian sanctions introduced in the state Duma

Moscow. May 14. INTERFAX.RU IN the state Duma amendments to the criminal code providing for up to four years in prison for the execution of sanctions of foreign States on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as for assistance in the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions.

Bill on Monday placed in the database of the lower house.

It was initiated by the speakers of both chambers of the Federal Assembly Vyacheslav Volodin (the state Duma) and Valentina Matviyenko (Federation Council), the leaders of all four factions — Sergey Neverov (“United Russia”) and his first Deputy in the faction Andrei Isayev, Gennady Zyuganov (CPRF), Vladimir Zhirinovsky (LDPR) and Sergey Mironov (“Fair Russia”) and the first Vice-speaker Alexander Zhukov and Ivan Melnikov.

According to the draft law, Chapter 20 of the criminal code is supplemented with a new article 284.2 “Limitation or refusal to carry out ordinary business operations and transactions in order to assist in the enforcement of restrictive measures imposed by foreign countries, Union of foreign States or international organization”.
