The state media will give millions of rubles
The Russian government intends to allocate additional grants in the amount of 800 million rubles for the financing of public broadcasters and agencies. This is stated in the draft amendments to the law on the budget for 2018-2020.
According to the documents, additional subsidies will be divided between a company VGTRK and ANO “TV-news” (RT), and the Agency TASS. First get on 295 and 300 million rubles, respectively. It is known that earlier the state has already planned to allocate 21,95 billion for RTR and 17.5 billion rubles to ANO “TV-news”.
The remaining 205 million rubles will go to TASS, whereby the entire amount of the Agency’s funding for this period will amount to 1,735 billion rubles.
In October 2016 it was planned to gradually reduce the funding of state media and by 2019 to reduce it to 6-20 percent. However, in 2017 the budget of the state media in Russia grew by 2.5 billion rubles: then TASS has received an additional 900 million rubles, and RTR — 186 million rubles, reports “Russian service Bi-bi-si”.
