Erupting Hawaii volcano destroyed more than 30 homes

Moscow. May 7. INTERFAX.RU — the Eruption of Kilauea volcano has destroyed more than 30 homes on the Big island that is part of the Hawaiian Islands, informs on Monday Agency Associated Press.


To date, local rescue services evacuated more than 1.7 thousand people, mostly residents of the village Leilani-estates.

The volcano has been active since last week. Local experts believe that, judging by the number of signs, the emission of lava in the near future will not stop.

Kilauea is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Height of the volcano is 1247 meters above sea level.
