The culture Ministry has complained to the Prosecutor General for the producers of the film “the Defenders”
The Ministry of culture has addressed the Prosecutor General with the request to check against several film companies, said the Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky.
The film company received government money to produce films, but has not fulfilled its obligations, the Minister explained: “In this list, a lot of crooks”.
All the Ministry together with the state Cinema Fund in the verification process identified 22 film company, which has not fulfilled the obligations to the budget. These companies either did not return received from the budget money, or money received on an irrevocable basis, but did not remove the painting. The Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky has called these three film companies “Yes Studio”, which received money for the animated film “Sergius of Radonezh”, “Contact media” (cartoon “Kuzka in the enchanted Kingdom”) and Enjoy Movies (“Defenders”).
Prior to that, the Ministry of culture appealed to the Prosecutor General with a request to check out the other five companies. The film has not got the money from the Russian cinema Fund and the Ministry of culture.
The Minister refused to speculate, what criminal penalties may be incurred by the producers of the film, included in the list. The main challenge according to him is to return the money to the budget.
