“The OPCW is unable to estimate or determine the amount of nerve agent that was used in Salisbury on March 4, 2018. Probably it should be measured in milligrams,” reads the statement by the press Secretary of the OPCW, submitted to “Interfax”.

“However, analysis of samples collected by OPCW-group, revealed that the detected chemical has high purity, durability, and is unaffected by weather conditions,” reads the statement.

Earlier on Friday it became known that OPCW Director General Ahmet üzümcü in an interview with The New York Times reported the use of from 50 to 100 g chemical warfare agents in liquid form during the attack on Skrobala. “For research activities in order to protect you could require, for example, from 5 to 10 grams, in Salisbury, appears to have been used greater volume, the exact number is unknown. I was told that we could go on about 50-100 grams, which is beyond the volume needed for research or protection,” said üzümcü.

In addition, the head of the OPCW noted that the toxic substance was probably a very “stable”. “It is not influenced by weather conditions, and this fact explains the fact that we were able to identify him after such a long time,” he added.

The Russian foreign Ministry supplied a statement üzümcü questioned. “According to experts, 50-100 grams of chemical toxic substances, if we are talking about the matter, spoke of the Kingdom, which was mentioned in the walls of the OPCW, enough to poison all nearby residents to the scene quarters, and not what two people”, — said at a briefing the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

March 4 in the UK at a shopping center in Salisbury due to the interaction with an unknown hazardous substance suffered worked for British intelligence former GRU Colonel Skripal and his daughter Julia.
