Modern technologies allow to see the paintings, which no longer exists.

The Spanish company Factum Arte has reproduced the work of Vincent van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet and other artists, with sketches, photos, reference materials and 3D scanners, which were previously used mainly for medical purposes.

The resulting copies of famous paintings was done in the framework of a scientific experiment and became a documentary film Mystery of the Lost Paintings.

Factum Arte’s staff claim that their copies as close to the originals: they were “written” in consideration of the color gamut, which the artist used in the painting, and even repeat the direction and length of strokes and strokes.
