Scientists told about the extraordinary benefits of Pets to human health

Scientists have found that life in the city without a pet can affect mental health.

The study is published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

In the experiment, the scientists from Ulm University (Germany) and the University of Colorado at boulder (USA) found that people who have no Pets more susceptible to stress.

For the study was selected 40 people in Germany aged 20 to 40 years. They were divided into two groups — those who grew up on a farm surrounded by Pets and urban residents, rarely in contact with animals.

After that, subjects were asked to solve a simple math problem, and to clarify the body’s reaction to it took samples of blood and saliva to the start of the test and after 15, 60, 90 and 120 min after it.

The result showed that the group of citizens increased the level managernew cells in peripheral blood and decreased activity of interlance-10 (anti-inflammatory). It is a sign of stress.

What a high level of these cells was recorded even two hours after the problem is solved.

A group of people growing up on the farm, the body does not so much react to stress. Scientists say that this may further reduce the risk of mental illness.

In their view, largely contribute to such a reaction micro-organisms transmissible to humans from animals. Because of this, the immune system begins to adapt and achieve balance in anti-inflammatory processes, thus reducing the risk of developing autoimmune diseases, mental disorders and allergies.

27 April it was reported that scientists have identified in horses the ability to remember the emotions of a person.
