Died people’s artist of the USSR May Guliyeva
ASHGABAT, may 1 — RIA Novosti. People’s artist of the USSR, the first in the history of Turkmenistan performer of Opera party of European works May Kuliev died in Ashgabat on 98-m to year of life, said on Tuesday the Russian government newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.

Guliyeva in 1943 was awarded the title of honored artist of the Turkmen SSR, in 1952 — people’s artist of the Turkmen SSR, and in 1955 she became the people’s artist of the USSR.

Moreover, the head of state in 2008 for contribution to the development of the Turkmen art signed a decree on assigning May Guliyeva title “Hero of Turkmenistan” with the award of the gold medal of the Altyn Ay (Golden moon).
