Wave with a nine: a Brazilian surfer set a world record

MOSCOW, 30 Jul — RIA Novosti. Brazilian surfer Rodrigo Coke became the champion of the world, having conquered nearly 25-foot wave, according to the newspaper South China Morning Post.

In November 2017 in Portugal Coke rode on the wave height 24,38 m. At the end of April the judges of the World surf League (WSL) recorded record. The Brazilian won in the nomination “the big wave” and became the new world record holder.

“A dream come true,” said the winner during the awards ceremony.

The previous record belonged to the American Garrett McNamara, who took a 23-meter height in 2011.
