TBILISI, April 29. /TASS/. The government of Georgia, commenting on the theme of relations with Russia, noted the lack of confrontation between the two peoples. This is stated in the statement of the press service of the government, released Saturday by the Public television of the country.

“In conditions when Georgia visits per year to 1.5 million tourists from Russia was not a single incident on ethnic grounds”, — said in a statement.

As the document says, “during the meeting with [Belarusian President Alexander] Lukashenko in March this year, [Prime Minister George] Kvirikashvili touched upon Georgian-Russian relations and noted that the peoples of the two countries, there is no confrontation.”

It clarifies the press service, the Prime Minister of the country at the same time stressed that “the normalization of relations with Russia is possible on the basis of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within internationally recognized borders of the country, and also pointed to the fact that in this direction the Russian leadership has not taken any steps”.
