Scientists have created a “cloak of invisibility” with polar bears
It seems fantastic stories about the invisible clothes is not so far from reality as one might think.
At least this issue closely on Chinese scientists, who invented a material that is not visible on infrared cameras.
Such a development specialists gave the properties of polar bear hair. As you know, their hairs pass only the ultraviolet rays and reflect the infrared.
Using this knowledge, scientists from Zhejiang University have invented a brand new material based on silk using lyophilization (one of the technologies freeze). Thus, the fibers become more fragile, but they had a chain of pores, which retain the air. As well as the hair of the polar bear, the new material has improved thermal insulation properties and is invisible to infrared cameras.
This development, scientists hope to use in the war industry, creating the perfect camouflage.
