The state Duma adopted the law on the new preventive measure — prohibition on certain actions
The state Duma adopted in the third reading the draft law on the introduction in the CPC of the new security measure — prohibition of certain actions.
The rule gives the court discretion instead of arrest the suspect to establish a number of prohibitions. Suspect or defendant may be prohibited:
- to get closer to certain objects closer than the set distance
- to communicate with certain people — witnesses and victims
- get out of the house in certain periods of time
- to use the means of communication.
Drivers ran over people may not be able to drive a vehicle — at the time of the trial they will be deprived of a driver’s license.
The observance of the prohibitions will be monitored by the Federal service of execution of punishments with the help of electronic bracelets and other monitoring tools. Bans can be applied alone or as a complement to other measures — bail and house arrest.
