Media and social networks will begin to test for dangerous content
Materials in the media and social networks will begin to test for the content of extremist and terrorist ideology, and for the violations — fined and closed. This “Izvestia” said the Deputy head of the Duma Committee on security, the United Russia Anatoly Election.
Such measures may be adopted on the basis of the law “On information confrontation of terrorism and extremism,” which likely will be adopted this fall — at the nearest session of the parliamentary Assembly.
It is planned that the “dangerous” content will calculate the heads of the media and a special “people’s militia” created from a number of Internet activists.
What information will fall under extremist or terrorist, will determine the competent authority (it is approved by the head of state or government).
