The attorney General reported prevented in Russia in 2017 terrorist attacks
Moscow. 15 Feb. INTERFAX.RU 24 terrorist attack prevented in Russia last year, said Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika.
“Destruction of terrorist groups in Syria led to the decline in the number of citizens attempting to join the ranks of the international terrorists, as well as returning from the combat zone,” said Yury Chaika on Thursday, speaking at the Board office.
According to him, along with preventive measures, this resulted in a reduction of 16% in the number of terrorist crimes.
Chaika also said that law enforcement agencies have identified nearly a thousand people involved in extremist crimes in 2017.
“Law enforcement agencies together with prosecutors suppressed 1.5 thousand of extremist crimes (+5%), mainly associated with the spread of the Internet appeals to violation of territorial integrity of our country, public order and security. Set of 972 individuals have committed them”, — said the Prosecutor General.
