Media: Japan will present the Russian plan of modernization of infrastructure of Vladivostok

The proposal involves the use of Japanese technologies, including the establishment of traffic, the arrangement of tourist sites and areas around the train stations.

TOKYO, February 4. /TASS./ The government of Japan intends to offer Russia the plan of modernization of urban infrastructure of Vladivostok with Japanese technology, including the establishment of traffic, the arrangement of tourist sites and areas around the train stations. As reported in a Sunday newspaper Nikkei, this plan is prepared in anticipation of the visit of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Russia in may and will soon be handed over to the Russian side.

To make such an offer in Tokyo decided in the framework of the plan of economic cooperation between the two countries of the eight points, as well as on the basis of the agreements reached during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Japan in December 2016. The Japanese side, according to local media reports, due to the implementation of the plan of economic cooperation wants to contribute to creating more supportive of Russia’s position on the promotion of talks on the South Kuril Islands, which Tokyo disputes.

The proposal, which is prepared by Japan, involves the creation of tourism facilities, upgrading and construction of areas adjacent to railway stations of the city, as well as the introduction of automatic control system of work of traffic lights on the basis of the number of cars on the roads. In addition, Tokyo wants to offer the repair of old sewer pipes without carrying out the ground works and the establishment of incineration facilities for the Japanese sample, allowing to reduce emissions into the atmosphere. However, the wishes of the Russian side will also be included in the final version of the project.
