In Shanghai the van was driven into a crowd of pedestrians

Hospitalized 18 people, three of them are in serious condition.

BEIJING, Feb 2 — RIA Novosti. Eighteen people were hospitalized after a van drove onto the sidewalk in front of Starbucks in the center of Shanghai in China, reports Xinhua news Agency.

After the collision with the fence of the coffee shop the van caught fire, but the fire managed to spread to gas cylinders. Arriving firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.

The incident occurred in the Huangpu district in one of the most touristic areas of the city at the intersection of Xinchang and the Nanjing around 9.00 am (4.00 GMT).

Three people in serious condition. According to preliminary data, in the van were six people, they are among the 18 injured and was sent to the hospital.
