Entered into same-sex marriage in Denmark Russians fined for “damage” passports

Moscow. 27 Jan. INTERFAX.RU — the Administrative case of intentional damage of the document filed in Russia against concluded in Denmark same-sex marriage Russians of the passport which was invalidated the day before.

“Against the men who initiated the inclusion in passports of citizens of the Russian Federation marks is not permitted by applicable law, filed the case on administrative offences, provided by article 19.16 of the administrative code “Intentional damage of the identity document of the citizen (passport) or loss of the document proving the identity of the citizen (passport) through negligence”, — told “Interfax” the press service of the Metropolitan police.

According to the press service, in proceedings in these cases passports are confiscated to be attached to the materials and further exchange in the prescribed manner.

Earlier media reported that two men citizens of the Russian Federation, in early January, were married in Copenhagen, as Denmark allowed same-sex marriages. Then the documents for the registration of marriage together with a notarized translation, they applied the multipurpose centre of state services in Moscow, where they put stamps in passports on the pages of the family situation, “confirming that the men were married”.
