Patriarch Kirill urged to give special status to large families

The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill called on senators to give special status to large families. This was the Primate of the Russian Church said in the traditional “Christmas parliamentary meetings” in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

“The Church has supported and will support any positive changes in the legislation aimed at supporting motherhood and childhood, and particularly to overcome such a terrible phenomenon as orphans with living parents”, — quotes the words of the Patriarch “Federal news Agency”.

He noted that “it would have enormous symbolic value and the world would show the difference in approach: Russia cares about the future.”

The portal iz.ru wrote that Patriarch Kirill has proposed to create special shelters where a woman who didn’t have the abortion, may in time to give the baby up if she is in a difficult situation. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church noted that the Church is ready to educate children from disadvantaged families.
