The journalist asked Saakashvili why he promised to unite all the opposition forces against President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, and then threatened to jump from the roof of a multistory building. Saakashvili responded only to the second part of the question.

I told the militiamen that if they try to approach and put handcuffs on me, we all fall down. And it was true. And they didn’t really try.Mikheil Saakashvili

“I went up to the roof, because my phone drowned. I had to call people. I had to climb on the roof, it was a pragmatic decision. The message can be sent only on the roof. So in our days mobile communication”, — said Saakashvili.

Sebastian called the case “street theatre” and noted that many people believe that Saakashvili lost touch with reality. The former head of Odessa region said that such statements are “not about him”.

December 5, employees of the security Service of Ukraine came to the apartment Saakashvili with a search warrant. After that, the politician ran, climbed onto the roof of an eight-house, where he was detained. Saakashvili sat in the car and tried to move, but his supporters blocked the car and confronted the security forces. 8 Dec policy still managed to be detained on charges of preparing a coup, but the court released him from arrest.
