Putin spoke about the plans to increase the share of civilian products in the defense industry to 50% by 2030

UFA, January 24. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined plans for a substantial increase in the share of civilian products by enterprises of the military-industrial complex: by 2030 it is expected to grow to 50%. “The strategic objective is to increase by 2025 the share of civilian products to 30% of the total products of the defense industry, and by 2030 – up to 50%”, – he said at a meeting on diversification of production of civilian products in the defense plants.

A quality product at a competitive price

The President noted that we are now implementing a number of large-scale programs on modernization of the power industry and digital economy development, and the introduction of best available technologies, the modern equipment of medical institutions, the establishment of industry waste. “Enterprises of the military-industrial complex should participate more actively in such programmes and projects – required the head of state. – Make no mistake, the offered products must be qualitative and competitive in price. In artificial greenhouse conditions, of course, impossible and unnecessary, and harmful would be to create [such products]”.
