The prosecution had requested six years in prison for ex-police officer Astafurova

MOSCOW, 18 Jul — RIA Novosti. The state prosecution on Thursday asked to be sentenced to six years in prison, a former operative of the Central Board of anti-corruption (Guebipk) Ministry of internal Affairs Sergey Astafurov in the case of abuse of office, told RIA Novosti his lawyer Alexei Mezentsev.

“Today the Prosecutor asked for Astafurova six years in a General regime colony,” said the Agency’s lawyer Mezentsev. The same period, according to the lawyer, the Prosecutor is requested for the Director of the Federal state unitary enterprise “Promresurs” Vladimir Spiridonov.

The court session was held behind closed doors because the case is declassified.

The criminal case against Astafurova and Spiridonova was initiated in January last year. The first is accused of excess of powers of office, entailed heavy consequences, the second in aiding the operative and the illegal possession of weapons.

By the time of the arrest Astafurov served in the 12th division of management “T” Guebipk, but before that, I worked in the “M” which dealt with the suppression of economic crimes in the field of metallurgy.

According to investigators, Astafurov in 2014 falsified materials operatively-search activity against the owner of CHTPZ Andrei Komarov and his lawyer Alexander Shibanov, which showed that the latter tried to bribe the Director of the Federal state unitary enterprise “Promresurs” Vladimir Spiridonov for the falsification of the results conducted in 2013 verify CTRP.
