MOSCOW, 4 Jan — RIA Novosti. Scientists have found how the consumption of processed meat affects the risk of malignant tumors. Relevant data published in the journal European Journal of Cancer.
Experts from the University of Glasgow conducted a study, which was attended by 260 thousand middle-aged women. It turned out that even nine grams of meat products a day increases the likelihood of developing breast cancer by 15 percent. That amount is equivalent to three slices of bacon or two sausages a week.
It is noted that the danger is precisely processed product.
Previously, experts of the world health organization found that 50 grams of processed meat a day increases the probability of the formation of colorectal tumours by 18 percent.
