Prime Minister Boyko Borisov intends among others to raise with the Council the issue of lifting anti-Russian sanctions.
SOFIA, January 1. /TASS/. Bulgaria on Monday became the rotating President of the Council of the European Union. As reported TASS, the Minister of the Bulgarian presidency of the EU Council lilyana Pavlova, in the next six months will be held in Sofia 300 official events, including 30 with the participation of political leaders of European States, and the country will be visited by over 25 thousand guests.
In the framework of our chairmanship will be held 300 meetings in Bulgaria and 1.5 thousand of meetings at the highest expert level in Strasbourg and Brussels. According to the Minister, as the Chairman of the Council of the EU, Bulgaria will assume the role of coordinator. Under the mediation of Sophia, will continue negotiating the British exit from the EU, migration policy development, preparing long-term financial agreements will be discussed the issues of regional development of the countries-members of EU integration of the Western Balkans into the European community, questions of formation of a common European defense, a common digital market and others.
Bulgaria intends to raise the issue of lifting anti-Russian sanctions.
“Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and the Bulgarian government consider it necessary to include in the agenda of the upcoming debate on the question of sanctions as a priority. This issue will be discussed in a variety of formats to find best solution and solve the problem”, — said earlier Pavlov, answering the question TASS.
