MOSCOW, 29 Dec — RIA Novosti. The leader of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky became the first officially registered presidential candidate.
Politician personally came to the CEC for registration. The Chairman of the CEC Nikolai Bulaev handed over to the leader of the liberal democratic party candidate’s certificate.

He also asked the CEC to ensure that the terms of all bidders were equal, to avoid illegal propaganda.
On the eve of the Central election Commission has allowed Vladimir Putin, who goes on elections as the independent candidate, start a campaign and collecting signatures.
The candidate may nominate the party at the Congress. The independent candidate also is necessary to collect initiative group, which will include not less than five hundred. Then contender for the presidency brings to the CEC the documents for nomination. The Central election Commission verifies within five days and make a decision.
Next, you need to register as a candidate: independent candidate must collect no less than 300 thousand signatures.
Presidential elections will be held on March 18, 2018, the election campaign officially started on 18 December.
