Scientists have identified a sign of imminent death
MOSCOW, 19 Jul — RIA Novosti. Restless legs syndrome with high probability indicates the imminent onset of death. This is stated in a study published in the journal Neurology.
Scientists at the University of Pennsylvania analyzed data from 57 417 women, whose average age was 67 years. During the study every two years to collect data on the health status of volunteers, including the presence of SC.
Within ten years, the experts recorded 6448 deaths occurred for various reasons. It was found that in subjects suffering from PRS, the risk of death from cardiovascular disease was 43% higher than those who did not have this syndrome. It is noted that the relations between the PRS and mortality due to cancer and other causes has not been established.
Restless legs syndrome is a sensorimotor disorder characterized by unpleasant sensations in the lower extremities, which appear in a relaxed condition. Most often, SC is exacerbated in the evening and at night and leads to sleep disturbance.
