This was stated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the ceremony of presenting state awards for outstanding achievements in the field of human rights and charitable activities.

“The decision in 2018 to allocate from the Federal budget of 4.3 billion rubles for the organization of care for seriously ill people, providing them with medicines, medical equipment, including for use at home,” he said. Putin added that “such funding on a regular basis with a gradual increase will continue in subsequent years.”

According to him, the establishment of a system of providing modern palliative care and support to people who are faced with serious and incurable illnesses, “it is not only an important development direction of health, but also our moral human duty, in the highest degree humane and merciful task.”

“And it should be addressed with the active participation of NGOs, who know the problems of people in need of such assistance. Of course, necessary and consistent with the state”, — said the President of Russia.
