MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. Strategic rocket forces (RVSN) plan to carry out in the coming year, 12 launches of Intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), in particular, to confirm the correctness of the adopted design solutions for the development of advanced technologies. On that Sunday reported TASS the press service of the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation on the occasion of this day, the 58th anniversary of the formation of the strategic missile forces. In the past year in the strategic missile forces performed five launches, said the press service.
December 17, 1959 issued a decree of the USSR Council of Ministers, in accordance with which was established the position of chief of the Rocket forces, formed the headquarters of the strategic missile forces and other military bodies.
