In clashes in Kiev suffered 32 law enforcement officers

Moscow. 17 Dec. INTERFAX.RU — During clashes between supporters of party leader “movement new forces” of Mikhail Saakashvili and law enforcement officers of the Zhovtnevy (October) Palace in Kyiv suffered 15 national guardsmen and 17 police officers, have informed in the Department of communication of the police of Kiev.

“Today while trying to get into the building of Zhovtnevy Palace, the protesters staged a brawl with police officers. During the brawl, they began to use an unknown gas irritant, throwing firecrackers and bottles of water. In addition, some soldiers were selected non-lethal weapons. When it hit the 15 national guardsmen and 17 policemen: they are in the hospital with poisoning unknown substance, some also body injuries”, — stated in the message on page offices in Facebook on Sunday evening.

“Currently the situation in the capital is calm. Police officers continue to serve in the Central part of Kiev,” the statement reads.

As reported, on the fact of attempt of capture of the Zhovtnevy Palace the police opened criminal proceedings.

Director of communications Department of national police Yaroslav was Trakalo in comments to the TV channel “112 Ukraine” reported that the protesters near the October Palace used pyrotechnics, threw firecrackers. According to him, investigators began two criminal proceedings article 341 (attempted seizure of state or public buildings or structures (punishable by imprisonment up to 5 years) and article 345 (threat or violence concerning the employee of law enforcement body (imprisonment up to 12 years) of the criminal code of Ukraine. In addition, we have solved the issue of opening of criminal proceedings according to article 343 (obstruction of law enforcement activities).
