In the situation of abortion in the country nothing is impossible “to break through the knee”. This was stated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin during the big press conference, which broadcasts on Thursday, December 14, led the First channel.
So the head of state answered a question of the journalist of the edition “Ivan Tea”, who noticed that in the protection of children before birth has already collected a million signatures, but no reaction of the authorities there.
According to Putin, the ban on similar operations entail the risk of an increase in the number of clandestine abortions and women travel in foreign clinics.
At the same time the President expressed readiness to support public initiatives aimed at the support of motherhood and childhood, social work for the prevention of abortion.
On 26 October the state Duma rejected the bill on the withdrawal of operations abortion from the system of compulsory health insurance and introduction of penalties for conducting such manipulations in private clinics. The profile Committee on health concluded that the initiative violates the right of women to decide independently the question of motherhood.
