The transit of gas to the Baumgarten hub in Austria, completely restored, the cause of the explosion, probably in a technical failure, said the Director of the company-operator of the gas transportation system of Austria Gas Connect Austria Harald Stindl (Harald Stindl).

“I can tell you that yesterday before midnight we were able to restore all transit lines, they all work 100%,” said Stindl in an interview with radio ORF.
According to him, as to the cause of the explosion, Gas Connect adhere to the theory of technical failure. “In Baumgarten was the installation of new equipment… But that’s just our hypothesis is that a technical failure occurred in one of the filters-separators. This technical defect, combined with some additional circumstances led to the explosion and fire,” he said.
According to him, today begins two investigations: one internal, the second leads the criminal police of Lower Austria.
